A Whiskey Painting is a miniature watercolor painted by a bona-fide member of the WPA:

The WPA, formed in the late 1950s has a limited membership of 150. An artist must be sponsored by an existing member. A genuine Whiskey Painting consists of painting a miniature piece of art no larger than 4
x
5" (20 sq inches) with watercolor by dipping your brush in some form of alcoholic spirits,.... then possibly sipping the alcohol, thereby enhancing the painting experience.
All Whiskey Paintings shown below are watercolor on paper; horizontal paintings are 3.5" x 5.5" and vertical are 5.5" x 3.5".
